Have a Vancouver gas tax, which the money would fund transit.
Have a tax on gas (and diesel) sold in Vancouver. Kind of like Montreal Island has. The money from this tax will go to fund public transit expansion projects and improvements.

But, there are no gas stations left in Vancouver, maybe expand to the Fraser Valley. I prefer a toll gate into Vancouver for non-residence.

not a great idea, we already have HST and GST. We pay to much tax!

There is already a Translink gas tax and it is a regional tax not just for Vancouver. Should maybe try for another double or a triple. The Translink gas tax is now 15 cents per litre for a total gas tax grab of 41 cents. So a tank fill up by a driver pays the fare for several freeloaders.
The parking tax went up 300% already too.So you got that, If you pay $1.10 / litre for gas 37% of it is all tax.
