Great idea. The draft Greenest City Action Plan will include directions to work with the school board and provincial government to support compulsory commuter cycling education in school curriculums.

Good idea! In the past few years, the City has installed 8 of 16 self-cleaning toilets as part of its street furniture contract with CBS-Decaux, and is looking for additional locations. (As an aside, locating them can be challenging due to limited public sidewalk space, a lack of utility connections, and concerns from adjacent businesses.) New public restrooms have also been installed as part of recent park upgrades. There is also a huge opportunity and need at transit interchanges, but this is outside the City’s jurisdiction — Vancouver has repeatedly requested (and will continue to ask) that TransLink install restrooms in its rapid transit stations.

Great idea that comes down to personal choices, and discussion with those that set work schedules (labour unions, other employers).
An error occurred while saving the comment Hannah Rose commentedI believe there should be a mandatory PAID hour long lunch break for all BC workers, as well as designated nap rooms in big corporations. (it is SO important to take breaks).
I was in France in 2007, and you could tell how happy people were to take longer lunch breaks. Also, it helps with obesity rates as eating slower has shown to decrease obesity- as it takes a person at least 20 minutes of eating before they get full.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hannah Rose commentedThere should be a service that allows you to bring your reusable bags back (perhaps a rental service). This way, if you forget your bag, you can just borrow another, and bring them all back on your next visit.
Also, produce bags need to be relooked at. Even stores like whole foods, that encourage using reusable bags, have small plastic bags available to put your vegetables in.

There is a Campus City Collaborative project in the early stages of planning, where all of the post-secondary institutions are working with the City and the VEDC to talk about movement toward the greenest city, with a focus on creation of green jobs.
