A strategy in the Draft Greenest City Action Plan is to give economic development priority to green sectors, and develop a green technology centre and network, along with other specific infrastructure and demonstration projects.

Requires support from TransLink. The City will continue to support this idea, through measures including secured rights-of-way (e.g. the centre median on 1st Avenue near the Olympic Village). The recent Olympic Line streetcar demonstration was very successful and helps make the business case for this project.

Low footprint food choices are not the same as vegan food choices in all cases, the analysis is more complex than this. Generally a low footprint diet is local, seasonal food, and limits consumption of red meat, dairy, and some grains. Low footprint food choices are included in the draft Greenest City Action Plan and will be discussed through community engagement activities.

This is an evolutionary process. The City of Vancouver is already considered a North American leader in this regard. Current and future plans and projects (e.g. Cambie Corridor Planning Program) will continue to embrace this ideal.

We are the stewards of where we live, we should support Nature more than we have in the past - when most local jobs were involved in stripping the forests and oceans of their marvelous plant and animal life for vast profits.

Now that those resources and their related jobs are gone, let's restore our shoreline...

People love nature! For example they go camping in the summer, hiking or cross-country skiing in the winter. The rich have summer homes in the country to enjoy living in a more natural setting.

Bring back nature to the city so we can have the best of both worlds.

Storm sewer runoff (ie rainwater) should be allowed to soak into the ground instead of being piped from our roofs into the sewers and then all the way to Iona Island.
