An ongoing process. Many of the City’s recent initiatives (e.g. downtown separated bike lane trial, additional traffic calming on existing routes) work towards this vision. The draft Greenest City action plan will support this idea, and include directions to help inform the upcoming transportation plan update and new active transportation plan.
An error occurred while saving the comment Lawson commentedSophie: You can have them all you want after you pay for your Annual Bike License of $150 you do not expect to pay less than dogs do you, Pay for your Access Fee to the area you want to ride in say Stanley Park, Pay Tolls to enter the bike lanes on all Bridges and Viaducts, Pay for Parking of your Bike with meters they have for Cars. the only thing differ will be that you can use your pennies to pay.

The city’s new 10-year cycling program master plan will soon be in development, and hopefully completed within the next year. A big part of the work ahead is to identify where separated bike lanes might be appropriate.
Lessons learned from the downtown trial will be an important input into the plan. The results so far support evidence elsewhere that separated bike lanes are a great way to make cycling more attractive on busy streets.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lawson commentedNo bike lanes in the city until you pay bike licenses fee $150 yr you have to pay more than the Dogs do, Toll fees and Access Fees to different areas of the city now lets Commercial drive that should be $15 one way, access $50 for the month, worn tire fee $10.00, tire air refill a service station $2.00, of course those that buy gas, that is free.

The draft Greenest City Action Plan will include directions to explore pedestrian-only and pedestrian-priority streets, but specific locations likely won’t be identified until later (e.g. as part of the transportation plan update).

Removed from Burrard Street Bridge, The Viduct down Dunsmuir and any place Downtown. If you want any you will build your and pay tolls and access fees to the area of your choice.
