Change zoning to maximizing landscaping of back yards by disallowing garages and laneway houses.
Garages and laneway houses use up green space. Zoning should permit surface parking in rear yards provided the surface is grassy or otherwise landscaped.

"Green garages" would be a good thing! I've also noticed some converted into actual green houses... which is also helpful.

I am in favour of the cottage style houses being allowed on properties, including refurbishing current garages, etc. into useable dwellings.

Green garages and laneway houses are a big part to the success of this project. I live in 238sq ft with my better half and 2 cats. If more people would adopt a smaller foot print the larger problem would go away!
